28 Feb 2014 How Facebook Marketing Can Make You Lazy Web Solutions
If you have been using Facebook as a means of marketing your business recently, how is it working out for you so far? If your results are less than satisfactory, perhaps you need to take another look at your techniques. It is quite possible that you have started to fall into some habits that are affecting the way that your followers perceive your business brand. We will look at some of these practices here and try to offer advice on how to get back on the straight and narrow before your followers get up and leave.
When Did You?
Can you remember when you first started your Facebook business page and how exciting it all seemed at the time? Well, it still is exciting but only for those who are spending their time and efforts on making that page a great place to be. Can you remember the last time that you did any of the following activities with regards to your Facebook marketing campaign? :
- Ask your followers what it was that they needed
- Looked into your followers’ details and tried to learn more about them.
- Made an effort into what happens after your Facebook page gets ‘likes’
- Wrote a really good blog post because you felt that you had something to share.
- Decided that you couldn’t go on just spamming posts across your social media platforms just because you didn’t have the time for real input.
Maybe That’s the Reason?
If you can identify with more than one of the previous activities, it seems that you have may have become lazy and really don’t deserve any more than you are willing to put into your social media marketing campaign. Is it really that bad that you can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum anymore? You see, your followers have already noticed and they are probably on the verge of leaving for sunnier climes.
Try This
Go and visit the Facebook page of your nearest rivals and see what kind of activities are going on there. If you get a shock when you see some seriously engaging posts and dialogues carrying on, don’t scratch your head. It may just be because your competitors are doing what they are supposed to be and you seem to have lost the plot. You may even see some familiar faces, and they’re probably the audience that used to rock up faithfully to your page. But that was in the good old days, remember them?
Is it Too Late?
Well, that is a grey area, if you have decided to give it one more go and your heart really isn’t into it, then don’t waste your time and effort. But if you have finally woken up and really want to do this from the heart, you may just be able to pull this one back.
And Now?
We would suggest that you take a few steps back and regroup, because this time will not be any easier, in fact it will be downright difficult. But remember the rules that you followed when you first got into this style of marketing? Now you will need them more than ever, but remember to keep on keeping on, and you just may be back in the game!
